WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SUPERWORM FRASS?

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CHITIN?

​

  • Plants exposed to chitin assume they are being eaten by insects and naturally boost their immune systems

​

  • Chitin naturally strengthens plants' cell walls 

​

  • It increases plants’ biomass 

​

  • Changes the soil in a way that is disadvantageous for phytopathogenic organisms.​​

​

  • Frass improves soil conditions for beneficial microorganisms so plants can easily thrive 

HOW DO I USE SUPERWORM FRASS?

​

  • Amend soil by mixing 3/4 - 1 cup of Frass per gallon of potting soil   

 

  • Top dress established plants by spreading 2 tablespoons of Frass around the base of your plants before watering.

​

  • Root-drench using a half cup of Frass per gallon of water every three to four weeks.​ 

 

  • Compost tea can be made using 10 tablespoons of Frass per 5 gallons of dechlorinated water using an air stone to keep aerated 24 hours prior to use. 

 

  • Make a foliar spray by mixing 1-2 tablespoons of Frass into 1 gallon of water.  Keep it aerated for an hour and maintain the temperature between 65-75 degrees F. Strain foliar into a spray bottle and mist your plants leaves 30 minutes before lights come on or they are exposed to sunlight.  Best done in the cool of the morning.
